Review: Ruffles Ultimate - Kickin' Jalapeno Ranch Chips

Ruffles Ultimate Kickin' Jalapeno Ranch potato chips are part of the Ruffles Ultimate line with "hardercore ridges for hardcore dips."

An 8-ounce bag retails for $4.29, but it's not uncommon to find them on sale for $2 to $3.

Upon biting into a chip, I was pleasantly surprised to find a fresh jalapeno flavor (as opposed to pickled) that faded into a creamy ranch. I usually find jalapeno-flavor to mostly be spicy, but you can really taste the jalapeno flavor here before the spiciness hits. It's clean, crisp, and very nice.

The chip itself is crunchier than your standard Ruffles chip and with much bigger ridges that have unnaturally flat sides. It's a bit weird, but interesting.

I really like the fresh jalapeno flavor. It's new to me and not as spicy as the real thing (it's still spicy though).
