Review: Wendy's - Vanilla Iced Coffee

My local Wendy's has started serving new Iced Coffee. The iced coffee is actually separate from their brewed coffee and comes out of a dispenser. Both are made with 100% Arabica beans which is pretty much the norm these days. They add milk after and a shot of syrup (Vanilla, Sugar-Free Vanilla, Mocha, or Caramel) can be had for an extra 25 cents.

I paid $1.29 for a value-sized cup (12 ounces) plus 25 cents extra for Vanilla flavor.

I like that Wendy's offers a 12-ounce size, although it's not much cheaper than McDonald's 22-ounce medium iced coffee for $1.99 (with free syrup).

The taste is comparable to McDonald's Vanilla Iced Coffee. It's not huge on the coffee flavor, but it's there. The vanilla flavor is pleasant and it's not too sweet. It's pretty decent, but I would like to see more coffee flavor; I think most people would drink it fine though.

This isn't a national roll out, at least not yet. Iced Coffee is something Wendy's has been working on for a while, so it still may be a work in progress. They're lagging a bit though, as Burger King and McDonald's both have a coffee platform in place nationally.
