News: Carl's Jr. Tests Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich

Carl's Jr. is testing a Hand-Scooped Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich out in Costa Mesa, CA. The dessert is basically a frosted strawberry Pop-Tart broken in half to sandwich a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The going price is $1.49.

The Pop-Tart Ice Cream sandwich test was initially reported by Food Beast, who spotted the sandwich on Instagram.

If you're looking to try it, you can find it at the Carl's Jr at:

1501 Newport Blvd
Costa Mesa, CA 92627

You'll have to hurry though; I contacted the location to verify and they told me today is the last day of the test (at least at that location).

The making of popular name-brand desserts into ice cream sandwich follows a trend for Carl's Jr.; they currently offer an Oreo ice cream sandwich and a Chocolate Chip ice cream sandwich made with Otis Spunkmeyer Cookies. They also tested an "Ice Cream Brrrger" in May of last year.
