Review: Jack in the Box - Pizza Bites

Jack in the Box's new Pizza Bites are deep-fried, breaded, and herb-seasoned pizza dough pockets filled with mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, and turkey pepperoni.

An order of three bites runs for $1.99 in my area.

Right out of the gate, these remind me of Totino's Pizza Rolls, except these are at least twice as big and feature a substantially crispy breading that covers a thicker, chewy dough, whereas Pizza Rolls have a softer doughy shell. There's a slight bit of seasoning to the breading and flecks of dried green herb, but the flavor is fairly neutral.

Inside these aren't as saucy, but feature a little more cheese. The pepperoni come in cubes like Pizza Rolls and bring a decent amount of flavor. Jack's Pizza Bites are supposed to come with marinara sauce for dipping according to their website, but I wasn't given any, so I can't really say how well they go together.

Overall, Jack in the Box's Pizza Bites are pretty nice, if a little pricey for what you get. I can see people springing for these for some late-night pizza snacking though.

  1. When I tried them the cashier gave me a bacon ranch salad dressing...went quite nicely together. Definately wish I ordered the six piece once I was finished though and maybe had them on top of a salad.
