A Company Comes Up with "Teappuccino" But It's Just Milk Tea

Perhaps following in the footsteps of Starbucks Frappuccino, Argo Tea looks to re-market milk tea with the introduction of their new "Teappuccino."

Essentially a shelf-stable milk tea (or in their words "tea-based dairy beverage"), the new bottled drinks feature loose leaf tea, milk and various fruits, flowers, spices, and herbs for flavor.

There are three varieties in all:

- Chai - Assam black tea blended with ginger, cinnamon and vanilla.

- Earl Grey Vanilla Creme - Black tea infused with bergamot and vanilla.

- Green Tea Strawberry Creme - Japanese green tea, strawberries with vanilla.

Teappuccinos will be available this fall at select retailers. The suggested price is $2.99 per 12 fl oz bottle.

Just as a note, a cappuccino is a coffee-based drink featuring espresso with foam and steamed milk. It's the foam that distinguishes it from other coffee drinks. Oddly, neither the Frappuccino nor Teappuccino contain any foam (unless you shake the bottle vigorously I suppose) although both contain milk.
