Review: Jack in the Box - Spicy Nacho Cheese Curly Fries

Jack in the Box's Spicy Nacho Cheese Curly Fries feature the chain's signature seasoned curly fries topped with warm nacho cheese and sliced pickled jalapenos.

I bought an order for $2.49 which, interestingly enough, was cheaper than a small order of curly fries ($2.69).

The fries were surprisingly crisp with a fairly mild seasoned flavor. Usually, when I get topped fries, the fries tend to be somewhat soggy but Jack's curly fries held up very well.

The nacho cheese coverage was a little sparse and concentrated mostly in the center. Still, there was just enough to spread around and the cheese itself was creamy and thick as far as nacho cheese goes.

There were maybe only four slices of jalapenos in all so mostly it was just cheese and fries. It's fine if you don't like jalapenos much but makes you wonder why they don't just diced them to disperse the flavor a bit better. They imparted a tangy, light heat to any nearby cheese that intensified when I actually bit into one.

Overall, Jack in the Box's Spicy Nacho Cheese Curly Fries take a classic combination and does it well. The price is pretty reasonable but they do skimp on the cheese and jalapenos a little to get there.
