Frozen Friday: Marie Callender's - Herb Roasted Chicken

Marie Callender's Herb Roasted Chicken frozen dinner features a leg and thigh of herb roasted chicken plus mashed potatoes and carrots and broccoli florets for about $3.99 normal price or around $2 on sale.

The potatoes were pretty standard: whipped to a nice consistency without any graininess. Broccoli never seems to turn out well with these frozen meals. It always ends up being overcooked and soggy and this meal was no exception. The vegetables were a little substandard compared to what's available in similar meals.
The chicken though, turned out pretty well. It was juicy and there was actually a little crispness to the skin that hints at roasting. I liked the herby seasoning which extended beyond the skin to the meat of the chicken. Pretty good stuff.
Despite the lackluster veggies, Marie Callender's Herb Roasted Chicken is still a tasty choice for a frozen dinner option. Plus, since it's an actual leg and thigh, you're not left wondering what part of the chicken your chicken is coming from.
