News: Popeyes - New Rip'n Chick'n

If you like string cheese, and Popeyes is betting that you do, you'll probably take a liking to Popeyes' new, limited-time Rip'n Chick'n (i.e. Ripping Chicken).

Basically like Popeyes Louisiana Tenders but instead of being cut into strips, a whole chicken breast cut into only partially into strips and left intact at the base so that you can rip them off.

Rip'n Chick'n is marinated with a blend of cayenne, habaƱero, white and black peppers, and then is hand battered, breaded, and cooked up in Popeyes signature crispy batter.

It's available through August 28th with Cajun fries, a buttermilk biscuit and a side of buttermilk Ranch dipping sauce for $3.99 (price and participation may vary).

Nutritional info not available.

  2. It's a bit of a stretch, but I believe the idea is that pulling the chicken into thin pieces is like eating string cheese.

  3. i can go the same place with it, but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't actually make any sense. unless this article is meant for the chicken factory worker who has the job to rip the chicken into pieces

  5. Sorry, but it looks like a fried HUMAN HAND to me- not string cheese. It's gross.

  9. Sorry, this news post is from last year. They had Rip'n Chick'n last year from July to August 2011 and brought it back this year from May till June.
