News: Chick-fil-A - Cow Appreciation Day - Dress like a Cow for Free Food

Chick-fil-A's seventh annual Cow Appreciation Day is coming all day this Friday, July 8, 2011 which Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide are offering you a free meal (entree of choice, side item, and medium beverage) to come into their restaurant fully dressed as a cow.

For those unable or unwilling to go whole, uh... "cow," you can still score a complimentary entree for partially dressing in cow attire (such as "such as a cow-spotted scarf, purse, tie, hat or other accessory").

For additional details, you can check out Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day website here. The site also has printable costume pieces and the details on a  "best cow costume photo" contest for prizes.

I feel an inner compulsion to comment further.

Blessings upon those adding to the general hilarity in an increasingly bleak world wherein the commoners are facing economic turmoil by dressing up as a realistic cow patty... extra points for concocting a mechanism emitting "steam" representing a newly-deposited mound of BS on a chilly autumn morning.

  2. In my semi-isolated section of the USA (southwest Missouri east of Joplin where the BIG tornadoes roam freely) Chick-fil-A has two outlets; one a stand-alone typical fast-food unit and the other a relatively new "member" of the local mall food court.

I gave the joint a try around three years ago; actually three, count 'em, three tries.

Twice with their low-cost basic chicken fillet sandwich offering and once with their chicken tid-bit thingys akin to MacNuggets as obtainable at the joint with the arches or the feeble artistic rendering of what were once-upon-a-time actual arches arching above the firm with the basic menu and 15-cent burgers.

I was so unimpressed with Chick-fil-A yet, apparently, masses of local herd members are drawn to the firm that closes on Sunday so that Buddha... no, wait... that other chap, can be properly respected and that is their right and power to 'em.

Heck... close every day of the week except Sunday and it is fine with me.

Oh shucks... be REALLY different!!!!  Be so rich you can "open" a food joint that NEVER opens!!!!

Outfit a place but have a "closed" sign at the door 24/7 and a small sign below proudly declaring "We are so good we never have to open!!!"

That's the place I want to work at.

Anyway, Chick-fil-A does have a following with, apparently, some of those folks admiring their "holiness" in regards to Sunday closure and thus an urge, a compulsion to give the firm their discretionary food wealth.

A sort-of tithe to the firm.

    Hallelujah!!!!  Hosanna!!!!!!!!!

Since their food left me less-than-impressed their closing 1/7th of the week affected me 0%.
