Review: Frito-Lay - Jalapeno Pepper Jack Doritos Jacked 3D

Frito-Lay's Jalapeno Pepper Jack Doritos Jacked 3D chips are a smaller version of their Doritos Jacked tortilla chips (which, in turn, are bigger and crunchier than their Doritos line) but with added depth (so that they're no longer flat).

An 11-oz bag was $1.99 on sale.

The bag is a little bigger than half the size of a normal bag of Doritos but weighs the same, which makes it seem pretty heavy.

In texture, these remind me of Fritos Flavor Twists. There's a denser crunch to them and more like the rotini-like Flavor Twists, more layers to crunch on. They're maybe 2/3 the dimensions of a regular Doritos chips if you don't count the depth.

Flavor-wise, there's a cheesy jalapeno flavor with a mild but lingering heat. It brings Jalapeno Cheddar Cheetos to mind, which is to say I really like it. Unlike some jalapeno-flavored items, you can really taste the jalapeno.

Overall, Jalapeno Pepper Jack Doritos Jacked 3D chips might be a mouthful to say, but they're also a really tasty mouthful to eat. That being said, if you're looking for a super spicy chip, they probably won't do it for you.
