Frozen Friday: Stouffer's - Sausage and Egg Scramble

Stouffer's Sausage and Egg Scramble features scrambled eggs, diced russet potatoes, and sausage in a cheddar cheese sauce.

A 9-oz box was $2 on sale.

This is pretty much a standard version of a quick sausage and egg scramble you might make at home minus the visual and textural cues of actually frying in a pan.

While there's zero searing on the potatoes, they retain a good amount of watery crispness and flavor but didn't really develop any sort of shell or crust.

The eggs came in good-sized pieces but they were overly dense as well as somewhat dry and chewy.

The sausage delivered a nice, crumbly texture and enjoyable seasoned flavor.

The cheese sauce didn't feel very cheesy and was more like a creamy, savory gravy.

Overall, Stouffer's Sausage and Egg Scramble had a lot of nice components but pretty awful eggs. They should considering offering just the sausage, potatoes, and cheese for you to just heat up and add to your own scrambled eggs. I think you can just microwave some fresh eggs in a mug and they'll turn out better.
