Review: Panera Bread - Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich

Panera Bread's Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich features chicken raised without antibiotics, diced celery, seedless red grapes, almonds, and chicken salad dressing plus lettuce and vine-ripened tomatoes on fresh-baked Sesame Semolina Bread.

A half sandwich was $5.39 and included a side (choice of chips, apple, or bread). A whole sandwich goes for $7.29.

I got the bread toasted, which adds an extra crunch to go along with that of the celery and almonds. The bread was thin and soft but still somewhat hearty.

From the celery to the grapes to the lettuce and tomatoes, the produce was all in good condition.

There wasn't an abundance of chicken, but there was enough and it was tender and meaty.

Taste-wise, the salad was fresh, creamy, and just slightly peppery, but it was also a little more sweet than I'd like from a combination of the grapes and the dressing.

Overall, Panera Bread's Napa Almond Chicken Salad was mostly enjoyable if a little too sweet. If it's not exactly a horn of plenty, it was well-assembled with quality ingredients.
