The pepper trio give the new tenderloins an international scope: Szechuan pepper is traditionally found in Chinese, Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian cuisine; the Aji Amarillo is commonly associated with Peruvian cuisine; and the Habanero is popular all over the place for use in spicy foods and hot sauces.
The new chicken breast tenderloins are marinated in a blend of Szechuan, Aji Amarillo, and Habanero peppers and then battered and breaded before deep-frying.
Wild Pepper Tenderloins can be found at participating Popeyes locations in a combo with four tenderloins, a side, buttermilk biscuit, and new Red Hot Honey dipping sauce for $4.99. The limited-time item is available through October 25, 2015.
