Review: Arby's - Jalapeno Roast Beef Slider

Arby's Jalapeno Roast Beef Slider features fire-roasted diced jalapenos, thin-sliced roast beef, and melted cheese on a soft slider bun.

I picked one up for $1.49, which is the same price as a Jr. Roast Beef Sandwich.

Of Arby's new sliders, the Jalapeno Roast Beef is the only one that offers something new: the roasted jalapenos. Nibbling on one yielded a searing heat that was more than I expect from a jalapeno (I suspect it might vary from jalapeno to jalapeno though).

There was a thick stack of roast beef in the slider, noticeably more than you get in a Jr. Roast Beef Sandwich. The Jr. Roast Beef is a little wider though. If you've never tried their roast beef, it's warm, flavorful, and tender, but with a overly smooth lunch meat consistency.

The cheese was thoroughly melted to form a mildly creamy blanket over the meat (it also provided a a bit of a cooling effect to offset the peppers).

I like the slider bun. It seemed the same as the ones found in the now-discontinued Mighty Minis. The bun is soft and squishy but resilient with a slight crustiness to the surface.

Overall, Arby's Jalapeno Roast Beef Slider was pretty nice, especially for those looking for some heat. Other than the jalapenos, it's very familiar but with a more satisfying bun.
