Taco Bell Expands New Firecracker Burrito Test to Toledo, Ohio

Taco Bell is marketing testing new Firecracker Burritos, featuring spicy popping candy, for a limited time in the Toledo, OH area.

The move comes after an initial test back in August at a few locations in Irvine, CA, where the chain is headquartered.

The Firecracker Burrito consists of seasoned beef, nacho cheese, seasoned rice, spicy sauce, sour cream, and crunchy red tortilla strips wrapped up in a warm, red flour tortilla. The key feature is a pouch of sweet and spicy "cayenne popping crystals" that you can sprinkle on/in the burrito as you eat.

The burrito is being sold individually for $2.49 in either a "Popping Spicy" or "Popping Cheesy" version (the cheesy version comes minus the spicy sauce).

It's also being offered in a $5 Box along with a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, a Crunchy Taco, and a medium drink.

The test should run through about mid-November.
