Burger King Launches New Philly Cheese King

Deciding to fix what they deem to be the "fundamental flaw" (the lack of flame-grilling) in a traditional Philly cheesesteak, Burger King introduces the new Philly Cheese King for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide.

The Philly Cheese King features over a half pound of flame-grilled beef (two patties), caramelized onions, two slices of American cheese, and warm American cheese sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun.

You can expect the new burger to cost $5.99 (may vary).

According to Burger King, one location in Philadelphia, located at 15 S 8th St., is protesting the Philly Cheese King and has opted out of offering the sandwich to honor the Philly cheesesteak (until "otherwise overturned by BK.").

Burger King has previously offered a limited-time long version of the same combination called the Extra Long Philly Cheeseburger (as well as a chicken version).
