Review: Marie Callender's Delights - Roasted Turkey and Sweet Potato Stuffing

Marie Callender's Delights Roasted Turkey and Sweet Potato Stuffing frozen meal features turkey tenderloin in a chardonnay wine sauce with sweet potato and cranberry stuffing and "seasoned bean duo."

A 10.5-oz box cost me $2.49 on sale.

Delights is Marie Callender's better-for-you line of frozen dinners with less calories and less fat versus the standard frozen meal.

The turkey comes in a wine sauce rather than a gravy. While the sauce doesn't deliver the same meaty flavor as gravy, it's good for a nice savory depth. The turkey was decently moist.

The stuffing was moist and neither the sweet potatoes nor cranberries were dried out. There was a heavy sage quality to it and a fair amount of sweetness between the sweet potatoes and cranberries. The cranberries also added a slight tartness.

The "seasoned bean duo" was a lightly-seasoned combination of green beans and yellow wax beans with just a touch of butter. They weren't all that interesting but they weren't over-cooked or mushy either.

When it comes down to it, Marie Callender's Delights Roasted Turkey and Sweet Potato Stuffing frozen dinner turned out pretty well and is worth a try if you're looking for something a little different or a little healthier than the regular turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes.
