Review: Wendy's - Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae

Wendy's Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae features vanilla Frosty mixed with the flavor of a "classic birthday cake," topped with sugar cookie pieces and rainbow sprinkles.

I paid $2.19 for one.

I think my local Wendy's might have pre-made and froze these. My sundae was ready before I had even finished paying and the Frosty portion of the sundae was notably firmer and colder (like teeth chilling cold) than a regular Frosty. It was more like ice cream just out of the freezer. It did make it more sundae-like as the regular Frosty consistency is too liquidy but they might have gone too far in the other direction. Your mileage may vary as the previous sundae I got was much softer.

Flavor-wise, the Frosty tasted like vanilla frosting. In fact, it tasted so much so that I found myself wishing for some cake to help break up some of the cloying sweetness.

Both the sugar cookie pieces and rainbow sprinkles added a hard crunch. The cookie pieces were a little too big so that I never felt like I was eating cookies and ice cream (it was more cookies or ice cream).

Overall, I liked the Birthday Cake Frosty Cookie Sundae better than Wendy's regular Frosty Cookie Sundae as it was more like a traditional sundae. However, it was also more like a Birthday Cake Frosting Frosty Cookie Sundae and the cookie pieces are too large given their hardness.
