Review: Burger King - Spicy Ch'king Sandwich

Burger King's Spicy Ch'King Sandwich features a hand-breaded chicken filet covered in a spicy glaze and served with pickles and Signature Sauce on a toasted potato bun.

I paid $4.99 for one.

The chicken filet was super thick and bigger than the bun all around. It might be the largest filet I've gotten on a fast food chicken sandwich.

It had a crispy, craggy shell with a moderate amount of bubbling to it. There was a bit of seasoned flavor to the crust that was buoyed by a light heat from the spicy glaze. The glaze/coating presented a novel contrast to the spicy mayo-based sauce that most fast food competitors seem to be going with.

The Signature Sauce tasted like a lightly-sweetened mix of mustard and mayo that added just a hint of extra flavor and richness to the proceedings. The two pickle slices offered the expected sour bite and a decent crunch from the thicker cut.

The potato bun had a resilient exterior and soft interior that was dense with small bubbles but still squishy.

Overall, Burger King's Spicy Ch'King Sandwich came out exceptionally well. Beyond the giant and crispy chicken filet, small touches like the spicy glaze and mustard in the sauce keep it interesting.
