Review: Little Caesars - Pepperoni & Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza

Little Caesars' Pepperoni & Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza features a large ExtraMostBestest Pepperoni Pizza with pepperoni and cheese stuffed in a butter-flavored crust that's sprinkled with parmesan.

I bought one for $10.

For whatever reason, even though I'm pretty sure they're both made with the same dough, the crust of the Stuffed Crust Pizza felt more soft and spongy. It's more like Little Caesars' Crazy Bread than their regular pizza crust. Additionally, it seemed like they added some of the butter flavoring along the bottom of the pizza as it was oily throughout. From end to end, top to bottom, there wasn't very little (if any) crispiness to the crust (except when I reheated it in a cast iron pan the next day) and it flopped quite a bit when I held it from the end.

That's not to say that the Pepperoni & Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza completely lacked any crispiness--the pepperoni was a thin blanket across the pizza's surface that crisped up nicely at the edges without becoming too dry. The cheese's flavor was fairly mild but pretty standard compared to the other major pizza chains.

As with the regular ExtraMostBestestPizza, there's a good amount of decently gooey cheese on top. The cheese inside the crust was actually a little chewy with a good pull to it. However, the pepperoni that accompanied it inside didn't offer much in the way of texture or flavor. The end result, taste-wise, was a mild and creamy mozzarella flavor with a hint of pepperoni. While the parmesan on top was plentiful, it added more of a grainy feel than much salty or funky flavor.

Not mentioned in any of the company's description was a generous sprinkling of dried basil that, despite the amount, only added a smidge of basil in the flavor department.

Overall, Little Caesars Pepperoni & Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza turned out comparatively well as stuffed crust pizzas go but felt more like "bread" and less like "pizza" regarding the crust portion. The price and amount of cheese and pepperoni are an exceptional bargain though (especially in my area, where a 1-topping, large stuffed crust pizza is $12 at Papa John's and $13.99 plus a service fee at Pizza Hut).
