It's normally $14.49 for an assorted dozen but I received the donuts courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
The Lemonade Glazed Donut is an Original Glazed Donut covered in new Lemonade Glaze. It has the same soft and airy crumb that the Original Glazed Donut is known for, with a lightly tangy and mildly lemony glaze. That being said, I'm not sure if it tastes any different from the Lemon Glazed Donut they put out in 2018. It might be slightly less lemony and more yellow. Still, it's a respectably nice donut as long as you don't hate lemon-flavored donuts.
The Lemonade Glazed Original Filled Donut takes the Lemonade Glazed Donut and pumps in some Lemon Kreme. The Lemon Kreme added a slight creaminess and mellow lemon flavor to go with the glaze. It's a bit sweeter as a result.
The Pink Lemonade Cake Donut is the only cake donut of the four. It's a pink lemonade-flavored cake donut covered in the new Lemonade Glaze and then finished with a ring of lemon buttercream and pink sugar. The cake donut portion provided a nice crust and more dense, heavier contrast to the lighter, almost-spongy yeast donuts that made up the rest of the collection. Like the glaze, there was the touch of tartness and lemon to the cake donut. Unlike the glaze, it was quite pink.
The thing that really sets the Pink Lemonade Cake Donut apart was the lemon buttercream on top. According to the ingredients, there isn't any butter/cream to be found in it but it tasted and felt like a buttercream frosting. The frosting had a smooth, thick consistency with just the barest dried shell on its surface. There was a creamy richness and light tang to it that definitely stood out against the more neutral cake and lighter glaze. The sugar on top was mostly decorative but can occasionally give you that gritty crunch.
The last donut, the Strawberry Lemonade Donut, takes a Lemonade Glazed Donut and splashes on a layer of strawberry topping and a lemon icing swirl. The strawberry topping actually captured some of the vibrancy of the fruit like you'd find in a jam rather than the flavor you'd get with strawberry-flavored candies. It's most likely the tangiest of the donuts in the collection. The lemon icing swirl didn't do too much here beside providing some visual flair.
Of the four donuts, the Pink Lemonade Cake Donut stuck out for me as it's the only cake donut of the bunch and the buttercream frosting is a rarity in donuts that worked out nicely here.
