Taco Bell's Chicken Enchilada Burrito features grilled marinated white-meat chicken, seasoned rice, red sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, and three-cheese blend, wrapped up in a soft flour tortilla.
I bought one for $2.99.
My particular burrito was well wrapped with a good distribution of ingredients (i.e. I wasn't left with an end of sour cream) and there weren't any excess folds of the flour tortilla.
The chicken was lightly seasoned, tender, and moist. Together with the rice (which mostly served as textured filler), it represented most of the burrito's filling. The bulk of the flavor was provided by the red sauce, which offered a tangy and savory quality with a hint of chile pepper flavor and seasonings. There was enough of it to also add a mild heat.
The cheese and sour cream contributed a bit of creamy richness as well as additional tang on the part of the sour cream. There wasn't all that much cheese and I could have used a lot more to deliver more of an enchilada feel to the burrito.
When it comes down to it, Taco Bell's Chicken Enchilada Burrito didn't quite deliver on the promise of the name as it needed a lot more cheese. However, the chicken and red sauce combination brings something somewhat novel to the menu for a decent price.
