Krispy Kreme's 2024 Biscoff Cookie Butter Donuts offers a trio of donuts: the new Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut and Biscoff Chocolate Iced Cookie Butter Crunch Donut along with the returning Biscoff Cookie Butter Iced Donut.
A Biscoff Specialty Dozen costs $21.99 near me but I received this courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
The new Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut is a shell donut filled with Biscoff Cookie Butter cheesecake filling, dipped in Biscoff Cookie Butter icing, and topped with Biscoff Cookie crumbles and a Biscoff Cookie Butter drizzle.
While there were a lot of Biscoff elements to the Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut, they were all pretty mild and quite sweet. The filling offered an extra bit of richness to go with the tang of cream cheese. The donut itself was super soft, moist, and airy. The Biscoff Cookie crumbles were only very lightly crunchy (i.e. they were a bit stale) and the drizzle was hardened icing.
The new Biscoff Chocolate Iced Cookie Butter Crunch Donut consists of a Chocolate Iced donut topped with a Biscoff Cookie Butter buttercream dollop and Biscoff Cookie crumbles. It's not all that different from the Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake Donut as the Biscoff flavor was also mild here with a light caramelized sweetness. While it didn't have the tang of the cheesecake filling, it instead offered a more-than-generous amount of sweet and creamy cookie butter buttercream icing to go with a very sweet chocolaty note.
Oddly enough, it was the returning Biscoff Cookie Butter Iced Donut that offered the most distinct cookie butter flavor. I can only guess that it was due to the more simple setup that left less to distract from the main flavor.
Overall, Krispy Kreme's made for some fairly enjoyable cookie butter donuts that still could have used some stronger cookie butter flavor. I'd like to see them just spread a bit of actual cookie butter on the donuts.
