Review: Little Caesars - Ultimate Cheesesteak Pizza

Little Caesars' Ultimate Cheesesteak Pizza next to a quarter.

Little Caesars' Ultimate Cheesesteak Pizza features a large round original crust topped with a cheesy white sauce, mozzarella, seasoned sliced steak, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms.

I bought one for $16.99. The price is more than any listed pizza on the menu (the next closest in price is the 5 Meat Feast for $14.99).

The pizza hit the cheesesteak theme very well. Between the mozzarella and the cheesy white sauce, it was very cheesy with a nice stretch and a surprising buttery note.

The steak wasn't abundant or spread evenly, but it offered a tender bite and good, lightly seasoned meatiness.

The veggies were also good. They were just cooked through, so they weren't mushy and still had a decent bite. Additionally, they had a strong but not overpowering presence taste-wise, particularly the mushrooms. Just a note: Little Caesars in California uses fresh mushrooms, given the proximity to all the farms in Central California. That is not necessarily the case in other states, so your mileage may vary.

The crust was okay. It was sturdy with some chew to it and some crisping here and there.

Overall, Little Caesars' Ultimate Cheesesteak Pizza hit the nail on the head as far as cheesesteak pizzas go. The flavors and textures hit the right notes. However, while the cheesiness was great, I would have liked at more beef (I get that steak is expensive, but wonder if ground beef would have worked). Also, the price is a bit steep for what I got.
