I got a box for $2.00 on sale (regularly $3.59).
I've already tried Stouffer's Spaghetti with Meatballs so I thought I'd try the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce as well.
The sauce is great, hearty and with just the right amount of seasoning, striking a good balance with the noodles. It clings to the noodles in marked contrast to the stuff they used to serve in the school cafeteria back in the day (do they still serve that stuff?). The meat was good as well and just enough to carry every bite.
That being said, the noodles turned out a tad mushy and a touch over the promised "tender."
I like the meatball version better. There's a little more effort in making meatballs and, growing up, my mom always made spaghetti with meat sauce (sometimes for several days in a row) so spaghetti with meatballs is bit more novel and rare for me. Still, Stouffer's Spaghetti and Meat Sauce is enjoyable and not too heavy.

For frozen fare Stouffers generally, in my Disgruntled Old Coot Opinion, makes decent vittles.
ReplyDeleteOnce in awhile but not as often since grocery prices have soared tremendously to the point I may have to depart the shanty and live in my camper shell/topper-clad long-bed pick-up, local grocery stores would have sales of several different Stouffers goodies at 10 for $10 or........ 0ne buck per box.
Decent deal.
However, I haven't seen any sales lately in any local grocery store that could be considered a bargain.
Can we blame terrorists?
