News: Little Caesars - New Deep! Deep! Dish Pizza

Little Caesars introduces their first new product in a long time with new Deep Deep Dish pizza (stylized as "DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza"), a rectangular Detroit-style pizza in a nod to the chain's hometown.

For you crust lovers out there, the pizza has 8 corners for twice the crunchy crust. In the Detroit-style, the pizza is cooked in a modern adaptation of assembly line part trays that are considered essential to the method. The pans are coated with olive oil.

The pizzas are made with hand-made dough, topped from end to end with mozzarella and Muenster, which caramelizes at the edges, and pepperoni.

The new pizza reminds me of when Little Caesars offered their Pan! Pan! special when I was a kid, where you could get two square pan pizzas for the price of one.

The Deep Deep Dish pizza represents the first national offering of Detroit-style pizza by a chain and is priced at $8 each, which compares favorably with Domino's new Handmade Pan Pizza. For added convenience, they will be offered "Hot-N-Ready" from 4pm to 8pm. "Hot-N-Ready" means they'll be available warm and ready for pickup without having to order ahead.

It looks like these will replace the very similar Deep Dish pizza previously offered.

  1. Prices are creeping up for everything. 64 oz juice cartons shrunk to 59 oz, etc.

  3. Quite frankly i think its pretty crazy that we still can get the HnR for 5$. I think that's spoiling us a bit because 8$ isnt a bad price at all, thats how much big digornios go for nowadays

  6. From Little Caesars, yes (a little bit). From everywhere else, no. Remember Little Caesars is the worst pizza chain.

  7. I tried it - pretty good. It is competing with the $8 two topping large carryout pizza at Pizza Hut now though.

  8. Oddly low cost competitor Hungry Howies (also from Detroit) came out with a Deep Dish on the same day. I had the Little Ceasar's version and it is a direct knockoff a pricier version by a chain called Jets pizza. I liked the pizza a lot.
