Blue Bunny Maker Releases New Chilly Cow Light Ice Cream Brand

The low-calorie ice cream landscape gets a bit more crowded as Wells Enterprises, the company behind Blue Bunny ice cream, releases Chilly Cow, a new brand of light ice cream that they're touting "actually tastes like ice cream."

Chilly Cow is made with ultra-filtered milk rather than the combination of skim milk and milk protein concentrate of leading brand Halo Top.

For comparison, the numbers come out to 180 calories, 17 grams of sugar, 4 grams of fat, and 12 grams of protein per half pint (one cup) of Chilly Cow's Brown Butter Salted Caramel flavor versus 160 calories, 7 grams of sugar, 5 grams of fat, and 10 grams of protein for a half pint of Halo Top's similar Sea Salt Caramel flavor (it should be noted that Halo Top also claims to "actual taste like ice cream").

Chill Cow comes in seven flavors, including:

- Brown Butter Salted Caramel
- Chocolate Brownie Batter
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Mint Dark Chocolate Chip
- Cookies N' Cream
- Sweet Cream Peanut Butter
- Vanilla Graham Swirl

Instead of coming in pints, Chilly Cow ice cream comes in packs of two half-pint tubs. Additionally, Brown Butter Salted Caramel, Chocolate Brownie Batter, Mint Dark Chocolate Chip, and Vanilla Graham Swirl are also available as ice cream bars in boxes of five.

Both the two-packs of half-pint tubs and ice cream bar boxes can be found nationwide for a suggested price of $5.49 starting this month.
