Frozen Friday: Boston Market - Chicken Pot Pie

Boston Market's frozen Chicken Pot Pie features a flaky pot pie filled with pieces of rotisserie chicken and veggies in a creamy sauce.

I bought a 16-oz pie for $2.50 on sale.

The crisping disc does a fine job as the crust comes out nice and crispy all around. There are a good amount of layers to the crust with the inner layers providing a moist, chewy contrast to the drier, crusty layers without. Flavor-wise, there's a really enjoyable butteriness to it.

Inside the pie, there was a thick, creamy, and, more importantly, chicken-y sauce. Sitting in the sauce were fairly tender chunks of chicken and a mix of vegetables that included corn, peas, carrots, and celery. The celery came across more prominently than I'm used to as far as pot pies go and gave the filling an extra bit of interest.

Overall, Boston Market's Chicken Pot Pie was very well done and very good all around. It's my favorite frozen pot pie at this point since the Claim Jumper ones were discontinued. I especially liked the buttery, flaky crust and the slightly different mix of vegetables (the celery and corn).
