News: Taco Bell Testing Crispy Taquito Dippers

Taco Bell is currently testing taquitos in a few test markets and are calling them Crispy Taquito Dippers, as each two-piece order comes with your choice of one of five dipping sauces, including a new spicy ranch.

You might remember that Taco Bell offered "taquitos" before, but that they were made with flour tortillas filled with steak (or chicken) and cheese, and were grilled rather than fried. This time around, the taquitos are more, well, like taquitos, and are made with fried, crispy, rolled corn tortillas filled with shredded chicken.

The available dipping sauces are new spicy ranch, salsa, guacamole, nacho cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream.

Crispy Taquito Dippers are meant to answer a customer demand for easy-to-eat items while providing a good deal of variety and customization.

According to GrubGrade, they're being tested in Columbus, Ohio with a price tag of two for $1.99 or four for $3.79. You get your choice of one dip per two taquitos.

I contacted Taco Bell and depending on where you find them, prices will vary since they're still in test (which includes testing different price ranges).
