Here are the details on the new menu items featuring new Crispy Chicken:
- $1 Crispy Chicken Taco - A crispy-fried chicken strip, grated cheddar cheese, lettuce, and a drizzle of creamy ranch sauce or creamy habanero sauce served in a warm flour tortilla.
- $5 Epic Crispy Chicken & Guac Burrito - Crispy-fried chicken strips, fresh romaine and iceberg lettuce blend, guacamole, diced tomatoes, tortilla strips, and creamy avocado Caesar dressing wrapped in a warm, over-sized flour tortilla.
- $4 Crispy Chicken & Fries Box - 3 pieces of crispy-fried chicken strips served over crinkle-cut fries. They come with a choice of dipping sauce (creamy habanero, ranch, chipotle, or Caesar).
This is not Del Taco's first foray into a fried chicken strip offering. Way back in 2010, they offered crispy chicken patties in the Big Fat Crispy Chicken Taco.
Update 7/30/2020 - The new boneless chicken breast strips feature a "golden-brown" breading with black pepper flakes. According to the chain, during testing, it was purchased at about the same rate as Del Taco's grilled chicken.
