Jif Releases New Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Spread

Jif Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Spread in a jar and to-go cups.
New Jif Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Spread arrives as a new variety combining creamy, salty peanut butter with sweet chocolate flavor.

According to Jif, the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Spread contains "50% less sugar than the leading hazelnut spread with cocoa." The leading hazelnut spread would be Nutella, which contains 21 grams of sugar per serving (a serving is two tablespoons) versus 10 grams of sugar per serving in Jif Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flavored Spread.

This isn't the first time that Jif has put out a potential competitor to Nutella. Back in 2012, the brand introduced Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread and Jif Mocha Cappuccino Flavored Hazelnut Spread but both were eventually discontinued. Other products that have tried and failed to take Nutella's choco-nutty crown include Hershey's Spreads, Reese's Chocolate Peanut Butter SpreadSkippy Natural Peanut Butter Spread with Dark Chocolate, and more. Most similarly-priced Nutella competitors in the US are store brands.

Jif Peanut Butter & Chocolate Flavored Spread is available now online in 15-oz jars and 1.1-oz To-Go Cups. It's currently rolling out to retailers nationwide.

You can check the Jif website to find out where you can find it.
