Review: Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread

Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread is a spread that aims to deliver the classic flavor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

A 13-oz jar cost me $3.99.

Opening the jar, the surface actually looks a little like the top of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup:

From the ingredients, like a lot of chocolate spreads (i.e. Nutella and Hershey's), there isn't any chocolate here. Instead, there's cocoa as well as peanuts.

In texture, Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread is easy to scoop but holds its shape fairly well. Its thickness is somewhere between Nutella and peanut butter, which makes sense I suppose. It's mostly smooth but there's also grainy bits of peanuts to give it a feeling similar to the filling of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

Taste-wise, it tastes exactly like a spreadable form of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Fans of Reese's will not be disappointed, as it's all here: the milk chocolate flavor and the slightly salty peanut butter.

Overall, Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread is an utter delight for fans of the brand's iconic peanut butter cups. I don't think it could turn out better if you threw a bunch of peanut butter cups together and blended until smooth. Just keep in mind, like the candy, this is a dessert.
