Here's a handy round-up of the seafood (mostly fish) menu items you can find at some of the biggest fast food chains this year:
- Arby's - Fish sandwich returns (they're now calling it the "Reel Big Fish Sandwich"). Some markets are offering them at two for $5.
- Burger King - Premium Alaskan Fish Sandwich (er... it is now the "Big Fish Sandwich") is available year round and currently available as part of a two for $5 mix and match deal. New Big Fish Deluxe adds cheese, onions, and Big King sauce.
- Carl's Jr. / Hardee's - The Charbroiled Cod Fish Sandwich is back (for $3.99) and joined by the new Charbroiled Cod Fish Taco (at $2.39). One of the few un-fried seafood options from a burger joint.
- Church's Chicken - Fish or Shrimp Meals - with fries and a biscuit. Prices start at $3.49. Available through April 27, 2014.
- Del Taco - Crispy Shrimp Tacos at two for $4 and Beer Battered Fish Tacos at two for $3.50.
- Jack in the Box - Fish Fillet Sandwich Combo - the sandwich is back for the season and comes with fries and a drink for $3.69.
- McDonald's - The Filet-O-Fish is always available but they usually do deals locally around this time of year (i.e. - Filet-O-Fish Fridays).
- Panda Express - New Szechuan Golden Fish. They also have a shrimp dish or two.
- Popeyes - Seafood Mardi Gras - Popcorn Shrimp, Seafood Po' Boys, Cajun Fish, and Butterfly Shrimp (the Cajun Fish and Butterfly Shrimp are at participating locations only).
- Subway - The Tuna sub is a regular menu mainstay. Select locations are also offering the Seafood Sensation (processed seafood, crab, and mayo blend) and Oven Baked Fish Fillet subs.
- Quiznos - The Lobster and Seafood Sub and Salad are back. Like Subway, they also offer a Tuna sub.
- Togo's - Lemon Pepper Tuna sub is back. Prices start at $3 for a mini classic.
- Wendy's - The Premium Cod Fish Fillet is back. Available until April 21, 2014 with a suggested retail price of $3.39.
- Yoshinoya - Grilled Tilapia Plate - Grilled white fish with steamed rice, coleslaw or vegetables, and either lemon garlic butter sauce or teriyaki sauce.
On a side note, why is it "cod fish" and not "cod?" Is there another cod?
