Review: Taco Bell - Chili Cheese Burrito

Along with the introduction of the Chili Cheese Fries Griller, select Taco Bell locations are also offering the Chili Cheese Burrito. Like the name suggests, it features chili and shredded cheddar cheese wrapped inside of a warm flour tortilla.

I bought one for $1.59.

So I tried cutting it in half for the picture but, as you can see, the liquid combination of chili and cheese just spills right out. This is probably something you'll not want to be eating in your car or on your lap.

That aside, the chili exhibits a hearty flavor with a good kick. It falls on the more liquid side as far as chili goes and veers a little salty.

I ate it at the restaurant so it was piping hot and the cheese melted into a respectable goo. I wish fast food chains would go something like medium or sharp cheddar but I suppose that's just not what the general public wants...

Overall, Taco Bell's Chili Cheese Burrito is just okay for me. It has a nice taste but a little too one dimensional and very messy. Some fresh onions would go well with it and add some textural variety.
