Denny's Serves Up New Fantastic Four Menu

Denny's is featuring a new Fantastic Four-themed menu as a cross-promotion with the upcoming movie.

The menu features an entree for each member of the superhero group with the glaring exception of Mr. Fantastic. Even the villain Dr. Doom gets a dish! Here's what you'll find on the menu and how I figure it ties together:

There's The Thing Burger, which features an orange "Thing sauce" because the Thing is, well, orange. There's also a lot of orange and yellow going on with the plate in general. Besides Thing sauce, the burger includes a beef patty, hash browns, an egg cooked to order, Cheddar cheese, and two strips of bacon on a Cheddar bun. Wavy-cut fries come on the side.

For the Human Torch, there's the Human Torch Skillet with a breakfast sausage, red-skinned potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, fire-roasted bell peppers and onions, jalapenos, and pico de gallo served on a hot skillet, topped off with new spicy five pepper sauce, pepper jack queso, and two eggs cooked to order. Basically, it's a spicy dish because the Human Torch is on fire.

Invisible Woman gets the Invisible Woman Slam, which includes two blueberry buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, banana slices, and a drizzle of clear citrus glaze (an 'invisible' glaze if you will; she can also create invisible force fields that villians might 'slam' into). It also comes with two eggs cooked to order, two bacon strips or sausage links, and hash browns.

The Fantastic Four-Cheese Omelet could have been the Mr. Fantastic Cheese Omelet, you know, since melted cheese is stretchy. It's a three-egg omelette filled with melted cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, parmesan, fresh spinach, diced bacon, onions, mushrooms, sun-dried-tomatoes, and herbs topped with diced tomatoes. Hash browns and a choice of bread comes on the side.

Then there's the Doom Lava Cake. Not sure how this one ties in to the Fantastic Four archvillain but it's a warm chocolate cake filled with molten chocolate baked with mini chocolate and white chocolate chips on top, and then finished with powdered sugar, and a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

To round out the menu, there's the Fantastic Four-Fruit Smoothie. The four fruits in question are banana, raspberries, blueberries, and pomegranate. They're blended with nonfat yogurt and juice. This one seems more a random throw-in than anything.
