Review: Burger King - Extra Long Pulled Pork Sandwich

Burger King's Extra Long Pulled Pork Sandwich features pulled pork in a sweet and smoky barbecue sauce, sliced onions, and pickles on a toasted hoagie bun.

I picked up two for $5 (you can expect it to cost about $3.69 otherwise).

There was a very thin layer of pulled pork to the sandwich. It was just enough for coverage, which meant not much was going on in the pork department flavor-wise. Burger King's previous pulled pork sandwich offered more pork and more value.

The pork seemed to be braised and a little bit too much on the mushy side. The barbecue sauce didn't offer too much in the way of smokiness but instead brought a some sweetness with just a touch of tanginess. There's not a overly excessive amount of sauce and in general, the Extra Long Pulled Pork Sandwich is not messy.

The onions and pickles actually did a lot of work here. They delivered a crisp quality to contrast against the softness of the pork and bun, while providing a bite and fresh sourness, respectively, that set up nicely against the mellow barbecue flavor.

The bun was soft but durable with a pleasant squish to it.

Overall, Burger King's Extra Long Pulled Pork Sandwich offers just enough varied flavor to be enjoyable. Just beware there's not all that much meat going on.
