Review: Nabisco - Swedish Fish Oreo Cookies

Swedish Fish Oreo cookies feature chocolate wafers sandwiching Swedish Fish-flavored creme.

These are currently exclusive to Kroger brand grocery stores. I picked up a 10.7-oz package for $2.99.

The wafers are the same as are on an original Oreo. There's the same crispy crunch and chocolaty taste with just a slight touch of bitterness.

The creme looks a bit like Play-Doh but smell and tastes like the berry-ish flavor of Swedish Fish candies. Eating the creme by itself is pretty much like eating Swedish Fish, only better because it's not sticking to my teeth.

Where it all goes wrong is when I ate the wafer and the creme together. Like sardines and peanut butter, they just do not go well together. I could feel myself making a face as I chewed on the combo. That being said, my nephews found the cookie sandwiches to be perfectly agreeable.

Try these if you really like Swedish Fish or weird food combinations (or are really curious). Just bear in mind that you might be better off eating the creme and wafers separately.
