Review: Starbucks - Pumpkin Cheesecake Bar

Starbucks' Pumpkin Cheesecake Bar is a pumpkin bar layered with a cheesecake top that's swirled with spiced pumpkin.

I got one for $2.75.

It might be called a "Pumpkin Cheesecake Bar" but a "pumpkin bar topped with cheesecake" would be more apt.

The bar portion tasted like moist pumpkin bread rather than a denser pumpkin blondie. Both the typical spiced and pumpkin flavor were mild. There's supposed to be some honey graham cracker crust in there somewhere but I detected it in neither taste nor texture.

The cheesecake added a nice richness and surprisingly measured sweetness. It also supplied a denser, creamy feel against the pumpkin bar. However, there's so little of the pumpkin swirled in that it serves more as a visual effect than anything.

Overall, Starbucks' Pumpkin Cheesecake Bar was pretty nice, especially if you prefer desserts with milder flavors. If you prefer more pumpkin spice flavor, actual pumpkin cheesecake or pumpkin pie would be a better way to go.
