Review: Carl's Jr. - Steak, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

Carl's Jr.'s Steak, Egg & Cheese Biscuit features seasoned, marinated grilled steak, folded eggs, and melted Swiss cheese on a Made from Scratch Biscuit.

It goes for $3.99 at my local restaurant but I received this one courtesy of Carl's Jr. (the suggested price is $2.99).

The steak was tender enough and seemed braised rather than grilled. It didn't have a crust or charring to it. There was a good amount of it to go around but there wasn't much flavor or seasoning to it beyond the beef.

Carl's Jr.'s folded eggs aren't quite fluffy but that have a nice, soft layered texture to them.

The cheese was melted thoroughly and, like a lot of fast food cheese, it was creamy and quite mild.

The biscuit offered a crispy crust and a dense, spongy crumb.

While solidly made, Carl's Jr. Steak, Egg & Cheese Biscuit comes off feeling a little too plain for my liking. I ended up adding a good sprinkling of black pepper to make it more enjoyable. I'd suggest doing the same or adding sauce if you opt to try it.
