Papa John's Launches New Papadia Sandwiches

Calling them a "toasty, hearty alternative to the same old sandwich routine," Papa John's launches new Papadias.

The new menu item is inspired by the piadina, which is a Northern Italian sandwich made with a folded piece of thin Italian flatbread and various fillings.

The Papadia basically seems like a folded small thin-crust pizza (they refer to it as "both a pizza and a sandwich") that's made from Papa John's original pizza dough and filled with various pizza toppings. A pepperoncini and a cup of sauce comes on the side. It comes in four varieties:

- Italian - Filled with Alfredo sauce, spicy Italian sausage, salami, cheese made from mozzarella, and banana peppers. It comes with a pizza sauce dipping cup.

- Philly Cheesesteak - Filled with sliced Philly steak, onions, green peppers, cheese made from mozzarella, and Philly sauce. A garlic sauce dipping cup is included.

- Grilled BBQ Chicken & Bacon - Filled with grilled chicken, bacon, onions, cheese made from mozzarella, and a drizzle of BBQ Sauce. It's also comes with a BBQ sauce dipping cup.

- Meatball Pepperoni - Filled with spicy meatballs, pepperoni, pizza sauce, cheese made from mozzarella, and classic Italian seasoning. A pizza sauce dipping cup is included.

Each Papadia carries a suggested price of $6.
