Ben & Jerry's Rolls Out New Oat-Based Non-Dairy "Ice Cream" Recipe

Ben & Jerry's switches up their Non-Dairy "ice cream" base to a new "smooth and indulgent" oat-based recipe that will replace the current almond and sunflower butter bases in a number of flavors.

The "new and improved" oat base will roll out in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Non-Dairy and Chocolate Fudge Brownie Non-Dairy starting in spring 2024. Ben & Jerry's also plans a Non-Dairy version of a current classic ice cream flavor sometime next year.

They eventually plan to switch almost 20 current Non-Dairy flavors to the new oat base. However, some flavors such as Lights! Caramel! Action! and (ironically) Oatmeal Dream Pie will retain their almond or sunflower butter bases as they're more complementary to the flavor profile.

According to Ben & Jerry's the new oat bases produces a smoother texture that works better with flavors like chocolate, caramel, mint, and vanilla.

The new Non-Dairy oat-based flavors are currently shipping out and will arrive at participating scoop shops and grocery retailers across the US. Each pint carries a suggested price of $5.99 to $6.49.
