Yoshinoya Launches New Tokyo Fried Chicken

Japanese rice bowl chain Yoshinoya launches new Tokyo Fried Chicken as the chain's take on chicken karaage, which differs from other types of fried chicken in that the chicken is typically marinated in a soy sauce-based mixture and is coated in a light batter made with potato starch.

Yoshinoya's Tokyo Fried Chicken features boneless chicken pieces marinated in sweet soy sauce and a special spice blend for several days. The chicken is then hand-breaded and fried.

Tokyo Fried Chicken can be ordered as a protein choice for any of the chain's bowl as well as a la carte in a snack-size portion (4 pieces). It comes served with a choice of either Hanabi Hot Mayo or Sweet & Spicy sauce. According to Yoshinoya, each piece of Tokyo Fried Chicken is "significantly larger than a traditional chicken nugget."

As a limited time promotion for the launch, Yoshinoya is offering a 4-piece snack order for $3 when you buy any bowl during the month of November 2023.

Tokyo Fried Chicken is available now at over 100 Yoshinoya locations in the US.
