Taco Bell describes the new chicken option as "a new flavorful chicken that's been oven-roasted, shredded, and packed with a savory seasoning of Mexican spices including pasilla and other varieties of chilies."
In addition to the new chicken, Taco Bell's new Cantina Chicken menu will also see a number of new ingredients featured nationwide, including purple cabbage, pico de gallo, a white corn taco shell, and new Avocado Verde Salsa packets.
Taco Bell's Cantina Chicken menu will feature five items, including:
- Cantina Chicken Burrito
- Cantina Chicken Soft Taco
- Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco
- Cantina Chicken Quesadilla
- Cantina Chicken Bowl
Taco Bell has used the "Cantina" moniker for a number of different menu items as well as for the discontinued, Chipotle-like Cantina Bell menu that was introduced back in 2012.
With the new menu coming soon, Taco Bell has already been working on new items for it as shown by a current test of Cantina Chicken Loaded Nachos in the Bakerfield, CA area.
