Starbucks Adds New Sous Vide Egg Bites to Breakfast Menu

Offering an option to those who prefer a bread-less or grain-less breakfast entree, Starbucks adds new Sous Vide Egg Bites to their breakfast selection.

Sous vide, which means "under vacuum" in French, refers to cooking vacuum-sealed food immersed in temperature-controlled water (at lower temperatures than say simmering or boiling).

The new menu items are available in two varieties:

- Bacon and Gruyere - Sous-vide-cooked cage-free eggs with aged Gruyere and Monterey Jack cheese, topped with a layer of Applewood smoked bacon.

- Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper - This vegetarian dish consists of cage-free egg whites with Monterey Jack and cottage cheese, plus spinach and fire-roasted red bell peppers.
