News: Starbucks - 2014 Fall Menu

Starbucks' 2014 Fall Menu is, as always, anchored by the returning and ever-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is joined the Salted Caramel Mocha and Teavana Oprah Chai Latte.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte (I reviewed it a while back) is made with steamed milk, pumpkin-flavored sauce, and espresso, topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices. It's available hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino.

The Salted Caramel Mocha (review) features steamed milk, espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce, and toffee nut syrup, topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a blend of turbinado sugar and sea salt. A Caramel Mocha can be had year round, but the turbinado sugar and sea salt are only available seasonally. It's available hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino.

The Teavana Oprah Chai Latte is being showcased as part of the fall menu, but is available year round and was introduced earlier this year (my review). It features a brewed blend of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, loose-leaf black tea, and rooibos, and steamed (or cold) milk, sweetened with sugar. It's available hot or iced.

On the baked good side of things, you'll find the following pumpkin items this fall:

- Pumpkin Scone - a scone featuring the flavors of pumpkin pie spice and brown sugar, finished with white icing and orange icing drizzle.

While the scone and muffin are familiar, the recipes for them are new, since Starbucks acquired La Boulange to create and supply their baked goods. The chain also offers Pumpkin Bread year round.

For brewing at home, Starbucks has returned Via Pumpkin Spice Latte instant coffee as well as their Anniversary Blend, which is available in whole bean bags, K-Cups, and Verismo pods at participating Starbucks Stores. Also for this fall, new Fall Blend is available exclusively at the grocers.
