Coors Offers New Naturally Gluten-Free Beer

Coors has come up with new Coors Peak certified gluten-free beer. They're calling it a "new, naturally gluten-free copper lager made with 100 percent all natural ingredients."

Rather than barley, the beer is brewed instead by a unique process of malting brown rice. Hops and caramel sugar help round out the flavor. According to the company, they spent almost five years looking for barley alternatives and developing the beer.

Coors Peak is available in six- and 12-pack bottles exclusively at grocery stores and also select bars and restaurants in the Seattle and Portland metropolitan areas.

Gluten-free beers do exist, but Coors contends that they tend to be sorghum-based or chemically-treated and only gluten-reduced.
