McDonald's Japan Offers New Hawaiian Menu Including Loco Moco Burger

McDonald's Japan is in the midst of offering a new, limited-time Hawaiian-themed menu that has been certified by the Japanese branch of the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Featured ingredients include kalua pork, pineapples, and bananas.

The menu is available through late March and here's what you'll find on it:

- Hawaiian Barbecue Pork (kalua pork) Burger - Kalua pork is traditionally barbecued pork smoked in an underground oven. Here, it comes shredded on top of a pork patty. Also included are a pineapple barbecue sauce, coleslaw, and pickles. It's priced at 390 yen (~$3.27 US).

- Loco Moco Burger - Loco moco is generally brown gravy, eggs, and hamburger patties atop of white rice. McDonald's burger version takes a cracked egg round (like in an Egg McMuffin) and brown gravy and adds it to a burger with two beef patties, a slice of cheese, and lettuce. Like the Hawaiian Barbecue Pork Burger, it's also 390 yen.

Hawaiian Mixed Berry Pancakes - These are only available during breakfast hours and features McDonald's hotcakes with mixed berries and vanilla soft serve sprinkled with macadamia nuts. It costs 420 yen ($3.52 US).

Pineapple Pie - A fried, turnover-style pie filled with a pineapple filling for 100 yen (~$0.84 US; on a side note, the exchange rate is really good right now!)

Banana McShake - A creamy banana milkshake at 100 yen for a small and 195 yen (~$1.64 US) for a medium.
