Review: Chipotle Cream Doritos HeatWave Chips

Chipotle Cream-flavored Doritos HeatWave tortilla chips feature a chipotle cream flavor at the forefront followed shortly by a spicy kick. The bag describes it as a "one-two kick."

I bought a 9.25-oz bag for $2.79 on sale.

I'm not sure I buy this dual-flavor gimmick. There is a slight delay between the first notes of the slightly tangy, creamy ranch-like flavor and the lingering spicy heat that comes after but I wouldn't say it's like two flavors; it all just meshes together.

Compared to Doritos Cool Ranch, the initial notes are less herby and slightly sweet with maybe a bit of smokiness.

As far as the heat goes, there's a medium burn with a fair amount of staying power.

Overall, I didn't quite find Chipotle Cream Doritos Heatwave to be crave-worthy but I enjoyed it enough. I liked the ranch-ish flavor and the heat never got too spicy.
