Review: Wendy's - Fresh Baked Oatmeal Bar

Wendy's Fresh Baked Oatmeal Bar is part of Wendy's currently-shelved (but still offered at select locations) breakfast test. It's a fairly sizable bar featuring oats, blueberries and cranberries.

The Wendy's breakfast location I went to has them on the menu for $1.29 each.

They call them "fresh baked" but I'm guessing Wendy's gets them delivered and then toasts them up like they do at Starbucks and Jamba Juice.

Wendy's oatmeal bar tastes pretty much like an oatmeal cookie, but shaped like a bar. Which is to say, it's a bit too sweet for a breakfast bar, but pretty tasty for a cookie.

The bar/cookie comes warm with a good amount of oats in it as well as some good-sized, tangy berries. There's a nice crust on it and it's pretty moist inside and not too crumbly.

Overall, Wendy's Fresh Baked Oatmeal Bar is a pretty good breakfast... cookie. It's soft-baked without being chewy and offers plenty of oats and berries, so at least you can say that you're getting your morning whole grains and fruit.

  1. These are freaking fantastic. Warm, chewy cinnamon goodness. Good berries as well.

  2. I can get a crappy oatmeal cookie/bar anywhere; why would i go to Wendy's for one?
