Review: Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves Crackers

Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves Crackers are described as "crispy cracker chips" i.e. they're meant to embody aspects of both a cracker and a chip. Seeing as Cheez-Its are already cheddar flavored, Cheddar Ranch just means they added a ranch-like seasoning.

A 9-oz box was $2.50.

Basically a "cracker chip" in this case is a thin, denser version of a Cheez-It cracker with grooves to create more surface area (like a ridged potato chip) resulting in a harder crunch. They remind me of Pepperidge Farm's Jingos if you've ever tried those.

Flavor-wise, there's a notable cheddar cheese flavor that gives way to a pleasant ranch flavor. Neither flavor goes overboard or is so strong that you get sick of them. If I were to compare them to Doritos, the "bold" factor is dialed down a fair bit and the crunch is a little heartier.

Overall, Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves Crackers are really nice especially if you're a fan of the cheddar-ranch combo as you get a balance of both here, plus more crunch than the original.
